Cat. #001676112: GARY MERRILL

Tough to acquire vintage blue ballpoint pen signature on a 6 x 7.5-inch contractual agreement for an appearance on a 1953 episode of "United States Steel Hour." Some minor creasing, but in good condition, overall. Rugged, deep-voiced stage and film actor Gary Merrill gained fame in Winged Victory (1944) and Twelve O'Clock High (1949) before landing the plum role of the cynical, hot-tempered director who comes between Bette Davis and Anne Baxter in All About Eve (1950). He went on to marry Davis, later authoring a book about their 20-year tempestuous relationship.
